We will help identify the likelihood of success, and guide you into making good bin / bid decisions. We can develop comprehensive responses which deal with, but are not limited to, social value, environmental issues and collaboration. Pricing

A price is a view on how a job can be done, and costings that demonstrate that. It’s hard to say what is the right price, but everyone can spot when it’s wrong. Accountancy is described as an art, not a science; pricing is the same. Many methods, many choices, different interpretations and countless wrong answers. We can provide clarity. Logical thought through price models, whether working from first principles, or building covered rates. Different approaches give you the ability to establish a price that works for you, and your business. We will help you protect you from the risks, and maximise your potential from an opportunity. We will teach you to create and protect funds within your bid, how you can share risk with the client, or eliminate it altogether. We will examine how you deliver the work, identify the right model for you based on your operations, and more importantly how you engage labour or contractors to deliver that work. The price is your chance to set the job up to succeed. It will directly tie into how you manage the work, how you engage your teams, how you deal with the client, and ultimately how you beat the competition.

Project Management

As a qualified Project Manager I can provide the instruction and guidance to deliver your projects well. However, our work is more than just another project management manual. It all links back to the price. If the price sets the course, then management is how we get there. By directly joining these elements, you create a consistent experience for the client. By understanding how to manage the program, or how to calculate your costs, you can control the project. So many managers I’ve worked with are passengers on their own projects, they have a program, they do the cost control, but they don’t understand how to effect control. We can create the framework, and more importantly provide simple techniques that allow managers to be in charge, for the business to achieve consistent results.

Review

All of our services are bespoke to your business and teams. If you really want to optimise your work-winning, or operations team, we are able to review current performance, process and skills. We can provide detailed feedback via a thorough SWOT analysis, which will also be accompanied by solutions and next steps. This will help you maximise your opportunities and minimise, or eradicate, existing threats. We can offer development plans for staff, or implement lean systems to help coordinate critical activities. Process & Policy

Perhaps not the most exciting topic, however, these are not to be under-estimated. Lean, efficient process, combined with effective and succinct policy, will provide a platform for your business to develop. It provides reassurance and confidence for your staff, and safe delegation to enable your team to progress. As lean six sigma practitioners, we can adapt best practice to suit your business. We can create a suitable bin / bid process that engages necessary parties, and provides considered decision making, that targets the work that is right for you. You might want to have an approval process that provides suitable escalation dependent on scope, risk or value. You might want to implement a cost value to complete process on your projects. We can help with management of portals, and accessing suitable work, or that all important cross sell and management of enquiries. Coaching

People are at the core of the work we do. Making good decisions, bidding for the right work, building a winning price and delivering profitable work is all possible through the decisions your people make. We can work alongside your staff providing 1-2-1 coaching, embedding best practice and winning behaviors. We can coordinate this work across sales, estimating, and operational teams at the same time; providing a cost effective program to develop critical members of your team. By coaching your employees we help them to make the decisions rather than doing it for them. This ingrains the behavior which can be passed on through the business as it grows.
